Afro Salon of the Week: Radiant Hair and Beauty Salon

The search for more Good Afro Salons led us to Bermondsey where we caught up with the team at Radiant Hair and Beauty salon. This afro salon has been established for 13 years and its going from strength to strength which is a good thing in our books.

Radiant Hair and Beauty Salon decided to become a Mizani Salon because of the belief in the products. The salon’s main aim is to provide a service that keep client’s hair healthy and they believe that Mizani assists in that mission.

What do you think about NoScrunchie? (Be honest)

I think it’s a great resource for good Afro salons and also a great opportunity for clients to find the right salon suited for them.

Have you looked at the reviews that have been left about your salon on NoScrunchie? What do you think?

What do you think about the Natural vs relaxed hair debate?

In the salon it’s split. One of our stylist’s refuses to do relaxers because she doesn’t believe in it but she doesn’t condemn anyone for doing relaxing their hair. Afro hair choices are all down to the individual. If you want natural hair, look after it, if you have relaxed hair, look after it. Bad maintenance whether relaxed or natural can be damaging.

What Percentage of your clientele has gone back to natural hair?

At least 40%.

Do you provide Natural hair training for your stylists?

Are all your stylists trained to apply chemicals such as relaxers and hair color?
