There are lots of healthy hair events for afro hair happening in London in the next number of weeks. We are very intrigued by the events that include both natural and relaxed hair for after all, it’s the health of your hair that counts!
Mane divas mobile hair workshops
First of the healthy hair events is the launch of Mane Divas mobile hair workshops; Divas on the Grow on the 6th July. All textures are welcome at the prestigious Waterlily Banqueting suite in East London. The day will be jam packed with interactive healthy hair stations; Divas Kitchen, Mini Divas, Hair Loss & Hair Consults, a seminar by top vlogger Valley Fontaine, vendors selling exclusive goods and a raffle with excellent prizes from Shea Butter cottage, Royal wraps and other generous companies; all whilst donating to The Sickle Cell Society, a cause close to our hearts. Grab your tickets on eventbrite now before they sell out.
NoScrunchie relaxed hair meetup
NoScrunchie hosts healthy hair events at least once a quarter and each one caters for a different texture or style. Our next meetup will be about relaxed hair! There is presently not much out there for relaxed ladies and we hope to help bridge this gap. This will be based on maintaining healthy relaxed hair. We will have a great panel of speakers answering all our questions and will include Victoria Akuagwu from Ziuzo Hair, beauty and fitness, Julie Oli , vlogger on healthyafrohair and Rose Sterling, an educator from MIZANI. Venue is the Wine Tun on Cannon Street on 15th July from 6:30pm. Come early and get a free drink! Event is free and you can sign up here.
The other healthy hair event will be the second installment of the Hair-ology conference which will take place on the 26th July 2014 at the Institute of Child Health in London’s Russell Square and it promises to be bigger & better than ever. This event is another relaxed or natural or in between event, health before textures! The line-up includes author Julie Oli, bloggers Crystal Afro (United Kinkdom) & Natural Belle as well as Leillah (NoScrunchie). Of course, it wouldn’t be the Hair-ology conference without a panel of experts. We’ve got Keith W Hobbs (Clinical director, examiner & governor of the Institute of Trichologists), trichologists Natasha Dennis & Teresa Angelina Richardson, cosmetic scientist Shari Nunes & an award winning hair stylist. We’ll also have refreshments, exhibitor stands & workshops. Tickets available here.
With all these healthy hair events available, we have no option but to learn more about keeping our hair healthy! We are very excited and will be at all of them, so if you spot us, come and say hi!
