NoScrunchie.com, the UK’s leading afro salon review portal, hosted the second annual good afro salon awards – the only award ceremony in the hair industry where winners are chosen by loyal consumers. The ceremony was held at the L’Oreal Academy on 2nd November with MIZANI and Edgestick as sponsors.
The ceremony brought together critics, hair specialists, entrepreneurs and industry professionals to discuss tales of tresses and lustrous locks. Goodie bags had products from afrodeity, nazuri curls, spell magazine, shea butter cottage, MIZANI and edgestick.
Salons have reported that after being listed on NoScrunchie, their client numbers have been steadily increasing month-on-month, and with 700 salons and 1,500 reviewers signed up, the site is quickly becoming the go-to place for afro hair recommendations and advice.
An inspirational speech was given at the 2nd annual good afro salon awards by Melanie Eusebe, founder of the BBBA awards about the need for afro salons to treat their salons as a business.
This followed into the future of noscrunchie as mentioned by Leillah Sekalala founder of noscrunchie. The future of noscrunchie and afro salons lies in working together to maximise salon revenues through good customer service, marketing, PR and better sales skills.
Ten salons were crowned for consistently delivering superb service to their customers, in a continuation of the ethos that NoScrunchie strongly endorses.
